InFocus Memories

FAQ'S

Why should we have our wedding filmed?

Your final wedding DVD will become a cherished heirloom that you will enjoy for the rest of your life.  After the wedding or event, most couples tell us that having a professionally made wedding video was the best decision they made for their wedding.  When you think about it, there really is no better way to re-live the special moments of stating your wedding vows, or remembering exactly how you felt during that special kiss.  There is nothing like a professionally made DVD to capture all the sights and sounds of your wedding day.

Reasons couples decide to get a professional wedding video:
  • To send copies to friends and relatives who were unable to attend.
  • To share these special memories with their children.
  • They want to capture all the sights, sounds and emotions of the most important day of their lives.
  • They want to look back at why they put so much hard work and effort into planning their wedding.
  • The wedding day is a blur.  It is so nice to sit back and watch your wedding unfold when you are not at the center of everyone's attention.

Couldn't a friend or family member just videotape our wedding?

Of course they could, but the quality of the final result would not even come close to ours.  With weddings and special events, you only get one time to get it right.  There are no retakes and no way to go back and correct mistakes or oversights. We use professional 3-chip cameras, professional wireless microphones, and top of the line digital editing and effects suits.  And don't forget, the equipment is used by trained professionals who know how to use it correctly.

Hiring Infocus Videography allows your guests to enjoy your wedding or event.  Who wants to be stuck behind a camera anyways.  Lets not forget the disappointments you'll have when your wedding video is not what you were expecting.  There is an explosive artistic difference between what we do and what your family and friends can do.  This is an area of your wedding or event that you truly do not want to skimp on.

Won't you be obtrusive or distracting if you're filming our wedding?

No, not really.  We strive to make every effort to film your wedding or event un-obtrusively.  Through the use of stationary cameras on tripods and roaming shoulder cameras we are able to be very discrete during your ceremony and reception.  We are serious about accommodating your specific video needs and wishes without drawing attention away from the main event.

How long will it take to finish our wedding video?

The typical project takes about 4-6 weeks to complete.  However, depending on the package you've selected there are several pieces of information that we need from you in order to complete your project.  Typically this information is gathered in advance through the use of our "customer questionnaire", but in certain circumstances the information we need is not available until after your event.  Although we'll begin and complete as much work as possible on your project immediately after your event, we often require a few weeks after receiving the final pieces of information from you.

How long is our final wedding video?

The average length of a typical wedding DVD is edited down to about 90 minutes.  When you go beyond 90 minutes in length then you reach a point where the video must be compressed in order to fit on one disk.  This video compression often leads to quality degradation and is not recommended by InFocus Memories

The different sections or scenes of your video can be broken down to the following average lengths...
  • Photo Montage - 3 to 5 minutes
  • Highlight Video - 3 to 5 minutes
  • Pre-Ceremony / Preparations - 4 to 10 minutes
  • Ceremony - 20 to 40 minutes
  • Reception - 35 to 55 minutes
  • Interviews - 5 to 15 minutes

We love our video, how do we order additional copies?

All we need back is your original master copy of your wedding DVD.  From there we'll professionally create as many full color identically labeled DVD and DVD cases that you need.  InFocus Memories does not retain master copies of your video when the project is complete.  Everything we need to duplicate your video and DVD labeling is digitally embedded on your master copy.  For this reason we recommend you keep your master copy in a safe place (such as a firebox) and then you'll always have the ability to obtain additional copies if necessary.

What if we want to make our own copies of our video?

Then we say go for it!  One of the things that set us apart from most videography companies is that InFocus Memories does not hold copyrights for any of the videos we produce or create.  We feel the content is yours from the start and should remain yours.  So, if you've got the technology and equipment to duplicate your video we think that's great.

Although some people may have the ability to duplicate the actual video, most people do not have the ability to reproduce the professional DVD labeling and DVD case labeling that comes with every copy InFocus Videography duplicates.  So, keep the professional labels in mind when thinking about duplicating your video and remember that if you want your video to stand out with your friends and family, duplicating through InFocus Videography is still the way to go.
